Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager to provide leadership for our Next Generation Launch System at our Chandler, AZ office.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Sr. Program Manager isresponsible to lead a cross functional matrixed team responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordination, and procurement of material, components, and subsystems for the NGL program.

  • Coordinate with internal NGL team to plan procurement activities at the earliest junction with a focus on identifying a path to the timely development of requirements to support the procurement process. This candidate will coordinate with engineering in the development of requirements providing expectations for the completion of documentation so the overall procurement schedule meets the programs objectives.

  • Support procurement teams by identifying qualification suppliers to support NGL material requirements. Coordinate with the suppliers and our internal organizations to insure adequacy of quality systems from the supplier community.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance relative to concept development, requirements development, design and integration/test as they relate to capabilities from the procurement organizations.

  • Develop procurement project plan, including resource loaded milestone schedule and earned value management system.

  • Develop budgetary estimates-to-complete for active projects.

  • Develop time phased budgetary estimates and detailed technical proposals for new projects.

  • Provide weekly written reports on project status, including accomplishments, issues and near term events.

  • Brief senior management on project status and technical details approximately monthly.

Manage the resolution of all issues related to these lines both technical and supplier related.

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 14 years directly related experience in Program Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Direct experience managing hardware/software integration

  • Experience with cryogenic system and component design, manufacture and testing is highly desired

  • Direct internal as well as external customer interface experience

  • Verbal and written communications with all levels of management

  • Extensive experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience developing project cost and schedules and managing efforts via EVMS

  • Exceptional leader of a multi disciplined teams including avionics, software, propulsion and structural

  • Extensive experience creating and delivering presentations to customers and senior leadership teams

  • Thorough understanding of design standards procurement processes and configuration management

  • Ability to work under limited supervision and complete projects on time and on budget

  • Multi-disciplinary engineering experience or system engineering experience

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Able to obtain security clearance

  • Ability to Travel Infrequently (3-4 trips/year)

Experience Preferred:

Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Education/Certifications:

BS in Engineering, Business, Management, Science, or Technical discipline is required

Education/Certifications Preferred:

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Degree
